Wedding Troubleshooters
There are many small things that are often overlooked on a wedding day. At Mpix we attempt to alert you to these to maximise efficiency on a day that goes so quickly.
You may like to take the following steps to ensure a smooth transition between functions and photographs. We have found the following troubleshooting guidelines helpful in ensuring your photos are at the premium quality.
* Notify anyone you would like to have photos with prior to the day with the approximate time and place. This saves you having to chase them up on the day.
* Let people know you will be receiving the full disk of professional photos to use, as on the day people using excessive numbers of cameras can be distracting in formal photos and cause the bridal party to look in different directions. Please inform the bridal party to look at the professional camera and not at the hobby cameras until after the professional session is finished, even if the person is a close friend of theirs. This will avoid spoiling your professional shots with eyes looking in different directions, smiling at different times etc.
* On your order of service if possible, or perhaps an announcement by the minister immediately after the service, advise where you will be greeting people following the service. Move to this point immediately after leaving the church. This will avoid having to interrupt guests and yourselves. The guests will meet you where you go, so if you walk directly to the spot where you would like your photos taken following the service, they will follow you there without hindering you and without interruption.
* Please let the MC know if you would like table shots taken separately and when you would prefer these to be taken. Request that the reception venue set a special space aside for you to do this if you would like table shots. This will avoid disrupting guests as they eat or converse and will give a better picture as guests are in a more relaxed frame of mind. It also gives all guests an opportunity to catch up with you, and avoids the awkwardness of having to stop everyone who is prepared having their table shot while the smoker is located outside, or the embarrassment of finding a guest who is otherwise occupied on the loo!
* Sometimes the day flies by so quickly that between the service and reception, often hours apart, the bride and groom forget to eat! Request one of your wedding party be responsible for some light refreshments or lunch so that you won't faint or lose precious time because of last minute dashes to fast food outlets.
* Remember to soak in your day. This has taken months, perhaps years, of planning and preparation, so amidst the rush it may help to imagine you are looking at yourself from a third party perspective.
* Time plans are important. We will be accompanying you throughout your day. Please feel free to notify us of all times and addresses so that photo opportunities are maximised. We will treat your wedding day as if it were our own.
